The way that God directs our lives and leads us down different paths is truly an amazing thing. Often when life changes come, His power is evident and miracles are observed!
Beginning about ten months ago, God placed before us the possibility of taking a position at Faith Bible Church, our home church in Mount Joy, PA, as Pastor of Evangelism. We accepted the call and moved to the Mount Joy area just a few weeks ago!
The decision was a difficult one for several reasons, but we had time to think and pray on the matter. For a long time, I will remember March, 2020, as a time of emotional and spiritual breaking. My plans are not always inline with God’s plans and during that time He did a recalibration of my heart. When God does that work, you turn out a little more surrendered on the other side, and it is a very special thing – even a miracle!
One of the reasons I struggled with this change was because of my love for Servant’s Heart Camp. Since my first year as a camper in 2002 to this present day, God has used Servant’s Heart Camp to impact my life and ministry in countless ways! It had been a privilege and joy to serve on staff and it was hard to accept that God could be leading us away from the camp. Another reason for struggle was our ministry of evangelism. I had certain goals in place and this decision would change some of that.
So it was in March, 2020. As the world seemed to be crashing under the weight of the rapidly spreading COVID-19, my world seemed to be crashing too. God drew me close and taught me to trust Him in new ways and I am so grateful He did!
We moved from Servant’s Heart Camp to our new home on October 15th. These past few weeks have been filled with finding furniture and setting up a home. The next event on our calendar is the arrival of baby #6. Please pray with us that the birth goes well, for good health of baby and mama, and for a swift recovery.
Our New Ministry
Serving in our new position at Faith Bible Church will not begin until the new year. As Pastor of Evangelism at FBC, I will be heading up the outreach ministry of the church and will also be responsible for some daily administrative duties in the office. Very little will be changing with our current itinerate ministry of evangelism. We will still be scheduling meetings and involved with revival and evangelistic work in other churches.
Servant’s Heart Camp
We whole heartedly endorse Servant’s Heart Camp. It is a very special place with very special people that God will use to change your life! With our moving from SHC will come some challenges for the camp. Please pray with us for God’s provision and wisdom for the ministry there. It is a growing ministry with great potential and a wonderful vision. We desire to continue to support the work at SHC and be involved as much as we can. We hope you will too!
