The beginning of August marked the end of summer camp and the start of our Fall ministry. We hit the road and headed north for Maine to see Liz’s family and hold meetings. It was a blessing to see the folks in Stratton again and preach to pastors’ kids in Lee. We went back to Servant’s Heart Camp in September for Fall retreats and workdays and by the end of the month we were holding revival meetings at Gilead Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. Unsaved attended the services and it was a blessing to preach the Gospel directly to them! October started with meetings in Colonial Beach, Virginia, with Pastor James McGowin. We were friends from college and it was really encouraging to spent some time fellowshipping together again!
Upon our return to Pennsylvania in mid-October, we began the process of replacing the roof on our trailer. We tore the roof off and rebuilt it with the help of some friends! God worked in some special ways and the end product is a solid roof that will last for many years. We praise the Lord for His provision!
The beginning of November took us to Ambassador Baptist College to represent SHCM during Missions Conference and continue the process of recruiting staff for next summer. It was such a blessing to interact with the students some more this year and get to know how God is leading in their lives. On November 6th, we began revival meetings in Berlin, Pennsylvania with Pastor Tim Shivler. Once again, we were encouraged and felt privilege to preach the Word of God for another congregation.
Now we are settled back in Ramey, PA for majority of the winter. The rest of this year consists of camp work, web design projects, pulpit supply, and a family trip to Maine for Christmas.
By the way, are you wondering how a full-time RV family stays warm in a Pennsylvania winter? Try an outdoor wood furnace! We purchased one from a family in Ohio and connected it all up about a week ago. There are still a few tweaks to be made and the furnace position is temporary, but it has been working great and it feels like we will be very comfortable all winter!
