Despite the worst diaper experiences on record in Brubaker history (really!), we had an absolutely fabulous week at Pennwood Bible Camp with 28 teens in attendance. When I began to meet the campers on Monday evening, it seemed evident that there were many spiritual needs. Often, my first message will challenge the campers to commit to obeying God in whatever way He may show them during the week. I think that no more than half of the campers choose to make this commitment at the invitation. As the week progressed, it seemed that a large number of the teens were resisting God’s conviction. However, hearts slowly began to become more tender. The week finished marvelously with some significant salvation and surrender decisions. It was very encouraging to hear the testimonies of what God was doing!
We are so thankful to God for providing this unexpected ministry opportunity and thrilled with the evidence of His power to change lives. These campers need much prayer now that they are home! As you think of it, please pray for them and for the many camp ministries across the country this summer. I am a firm believer in the benefits and successfulness of camp ministries. I have witnessed God significantly use them in my own life.
We are also praising the Lord for the prospects of two additional ministry opportunities that have arisen through our time at PBC.
