It has been about three years since we made the decision to accept the “staff evangelist” position at Servant’s Heart Camp. One of our main responsibilities for the camp is to get out on the road and represent the ministry in churches. Much has happened since our decision and it has taken some time to get established in our complete role there.
The Route
Up until these past few months we have not been able to represent the camp very much, but that began to change some with the start of the warmer season. We left the camp to begin a tour down the Delmarva Peninsula. Armed with a list of “good” churches, we set out to see what doors the Lord would open for us. A few of the key places that we made connections were Oxford, PA., Rising Sun, MD., and Salisbury, MD.
The Results
It was an exciting time for our family to travel and meet new pastors! In the end we met over 40 pastors and stayed in numerous church parking lots. People along the way were very kind and hospitable! It was a profitable time for our evangelistic ministry, but not as profitable for the camp as we had hoped. We will be changing our approach some for our future travels, but this “blind experiment” was certainly worth the experience!
